Where has the year gone? Seems like yesterday that we had rolled off an eternally long flight and landed in our home...tired, sick and bleary-eyed. And now look at us? AMARA turned TWO! It's amazing. We had a fun little party at our local park with friends and family. The weather cleared and warmed for our special day. Kids, sand, cupcakes, climbing and swinging! It does seem surreal though knowing that a world away this is all glitter and glam. Starving children, mothers and fathers dying, families splitting and hurting. And we've met them, seen them, they are our family now, too. Though we are all struggling right now, in all our own ways, we are living in a country that is rich and plentiful. That is the reality.
